| BACKGROUND: I started playing the drums when I was 16. Influenced by my greatest hero Stewart Copeland, I bashed away on empty cans of paint. I drove my parents crazy, but they never told me to quit. I still thank them for that. After a while I managed to save enough money for a real drum-kit. From that point it really started. My first band was a three piece band of really motivated boys who tried to play pure rock & roll. |

In the meantime I was busy exploring different kinds of music. I got obsessed by Genesis after listening to "Three Sides Live"; Man, this was drumming! Phil Collins was my new teacher..
Together with my nephew, who has a really great voice, I started a symfo-band called "The Meeting". We played covers of Genesis, Yes and Rush, added by a few songs of our own. But this wouldn't last. I was not happy the way things were going. To play these kinds of songs you really need talented musicians, who are willing to cross the borders of their own capabilities. So I quitted after only 2 shows and a demo-recording..
During that period I made contact with a pop-band called "Crocodile Smile". I was asked to join them in the studio to finish their album. I played on a few tracks and went on tour with them for 2 years. After this period I got bored of playing the same songs night after night.
In the meanwhile I formed a band with my nephew again; "Synchronicity".
My nephews' voice sounds just like Stings' and I always dreamt of playing like Stewart Copeland in a three piece band. We started playing Police songs together with our own, heavily influenced by The Police. But people only wanted to hear The Police; a tribute band was born! But again I got bored of playing the same stuff every time.
("Synchronicity" still exists and I sometimes replace their current drummer, when he's not able to play. Lot's of fun!)
And than came "Egdon Heath".
Their drummer quitted and I was asked to join them. These were guys who made music the way I liked it. My search ended here..
Well, we all know the story: after a few bumps in the road, "Egdon Heath" became "Seven Day Hunt".
And here I am trying to tell 24 years of history in a few sentences and lousy English.
